The FM-2 was designed by Grumman in 1942 as a lightweight version of the F4F, and is an onboard fighter for escort aircraft carriers produced by General Motors. It was operated by the Royal Navy Air Corps as “Wildcat Mk. VI.” With 4,127 of this aircraft made, it was the most produced of the F4F series of aircraft.
